Great pub - when not too busy
by Jacko - Thursday 26th 2003f June 2003
The Fort St George is a pleasant pub overlooking the river Cam. Outside, it has a very large beer garden with beautiful views over the river. Inside, it is quite a large pub with three bar areas, although the two back bars are chockablock full of furniture and feel cramped. They serve tasty food which is good value, but which can sometimes take a while to arrive but on a nice day, it is very pleasant eating lunch next to the river. The Fort St George is usually quite busy at night, but not so busy that it takes ages to get served. However, during Strawberry Fair, Midummer Fair or when the circus is on Midsummer Common, it usually gets extremely busy, and can take ages to get served.
