Could be so nice - what a shame!
by Geoff - Sunday 22nd 2003f June 2003
A hot Saturday evening, after punting - the Granta is an obvious choice. Nice riverside location, and pleased to get seats for all! We decided to return for Sunday lunch and was surprised to find it was not that busy despite being a scorching Sunday lunch time. The reason soon became clear. The toilets were filthy and had clearly not been cleaned since the night before, and there was STILL no soap! The Sunday carvery tasted reheated and was just very bland The cutlery was put out in tray but all still wet and not looking at all clean The tables looked like they had not been wiped for a few days There was litter everywhere (from how many days?) So I now know why it was so easy to get a table! A little effort and it would be a number one choice in Cambridge. What a shame.
